A European nonstop into Kayseri can save a connection, while a well-timed Istanbul connection into Nevşehir can reduce the final road journey. Start with the published season
The SunExpress October 2026–March 2027 reference, issued in August 2026, includes Europe-to-Kayseri rows for Düsseldorf, Frankfurt, Munich, Stuttgart, Amsterdam and Rotterdam. These are timetable references, not proof that seats are available on a particular date. The airline says frequencies can vary within the season.

What a direct flight can save
A nonstop can remove the Istanbul transfer, an additional boarding process and uncertainty over a missed connection. This is particularly useful when travelling with children or substantial luggage. Compare the baggage allowance and airport-transfer total before deciding that the headline fare is better.
Kayseri Airport is outside the main Cappadocia visitor towns. A good arrival time and a confirmed hotel transfer can matter more than a small airfare difference. Ask your hotel whether late check-in and a meal will be available if your flight arrives in the evening.
When an Istanbul connection is useful
No regular European nonstop to NAV was verified in our route check. Compare Istanbul Airport IST to NAV with Sabiha Gökçen SAW to NAV, as well as both Istanbul airports to ASR. Each airport pair needs its own date search.
IST and SAW are different airports. Check both legs on the ticket and prefer a same-airport connection where practical. A single ticket and a self-transfer on separate tickets have different baggage and disruption arrangements; confirm these with the airline rather than inferring them from the flight duration.
Finish with the arrival plan

Once booked, send your transfer provider the arrival flight number, date, airport and hotel address. Include the return flight number when available and agree the departure-day pickup separately. Keep your first evening flexible and sleep locally before a planned dawn balloon activity.
